Based in San Francisco, Naoto joined DC Advisory US as a Director in the Japan Asia Focus Group.
Prior to Signal Hill, Naoto Osugi was a director at San Francisco Branch of Daiwa Capital Markets America Inc. (DCMA). At DCMA, he was responsible for research and development in Silicon Valley, focusing on, not only researching FinTech trends in the U.S., business development with startup companies in Silicon Valley and engaging various projects in new business creations and operational efficiency improvement.
Prior to joining DCMA in 2016, he was a director at Corporate Finance Dept., Investment Banking Division of Daiwa Securities in Japan. At Daiwa, he was covering TMT sector and in charge of originating wide range of clients’ corporate activities including equity and debt financing and M&A. His past involvements in transactions includes SoftBank’s debt financing, Zenrin’s investment in MapMyIndia, Mixi’s equity financing, Colopl’s IPO and follow-on equity financing.
He stared his career in 2005 as an equity analyst at Daiwa Research Institute where he was a senior analyst covering Japanese telecom sector and provided insightful investment thesis to institutional investors across the world. His coverage included NTT, NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, SoftBank and other telecom related public companies.
