Based in New York, Erik is a Managing Director with responsibility for DC Advisory US’ Food, Beverage & Agriculture Products group. He focuses on companies in the sector which are positioned to capitalize on the ongoing trends towards healthier eating, the country’s changing demographics and evolving purchasing habits. Major areas of focus include natural and organic products, ethnic foods, alternative proteins, protein enhanced products, snacks (both healthy and indulgent), agricultural products, new age beverages and prepared foods, among others. He has extensive M&A experience across both public and private companies, including buy-side, sell-side and sponsor focused transactions, in addition to extensive experience working with entrepreneurs.

Prior to DC Advisory, he was a founding partner of Sagent Advisors in 2004, as well as Head of the firm’s Sales and Divestiture practice and a member of its M&A Group. Before his time with Sagent, Erik spent the bulk of his career in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he was a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He joined Credit Suisse First Boston as a Managing Director in its Mergers & Acquisitions Group after the firm acquired DLJ. Immediately prior to joining Sagent, he was a Managing Director for the Boston-based investment banking firm of Lane Berry & Company, International.

Erik is a graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in Business Administration and received his M.B.A. in Finance with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar.
